YOUR EDITION · YOUR EVIDENCE · SHARED WORK

Build an edition together.

Start with an existing text or a manuscript page. Keep sources, readings and decisions connected as your edition grows.

FROM DIGITAL TEXT

I have a text to edit.

Import or paste it, check the divisions and source, then build an edition and connect its evidence.

FROM MANUSCRIPT EVIDENCE

I have pages to read.

Preserve captures, register pages, and draw overlapping regions for letters, words and longer readings.

Have both? Link a precise text span to its manuscript region.

Know when work is saved

A drawing or a filled form is not yet a shared record. Use its save control, check the confirmation, and reopen the saved item. Starting a new annotation opens an empty form; return to the saved layers or readings to inspect earlier work.

Keep scholarly judgment visible

Contributors keep their authorship; the editor coordinates and decides with reasons. Independent review needs another qualified person's examination of the exact revision. This guide and its workflow nodes never award approval or completion.

What the current tools do

Start from a digital text or manuscript images. Preserve sources, annotate regions, choose readings in order, and link exact transcription spans to a named text version. Alternate captures retain separate image coordinates. Saving records the contributor and version; editorial acceptance remains a separate decision. Automatic cross-witness matching is a later build.

A public guide, a scoped workspace

This page explains the tools without exposing project material. Sign-in and project membership control scholarly work. Reader previews and workshop releases remain project-private; preparing a release does not itself deploy a public website. An administrator manages accounts and operations separately from a project's editor.

Try the workflow and record what needs improvement

Choose the digital-text or manuscript route in a signed-in project. The guided trial keeps your observations in this browser, lets you resume and export them, and separates participant reports from actual project saves and review decisions.

Report a problem and debug together

Open Feedback & co-work in your project. Describe the expected result, what happened, and the steps. Share the issue to receive a server confirmation; editors and collaborators can add attributed notes. Turn co-working on for the issue, return to your task, then stop when finished. Only named workflow actions and error codes are captured. Stopping discards unsent automatic diagnostics; shared history and manually written feedback remain. Export the issue as JSON or Markdown when you want to give it to Codex.
